Another challenging day for The Garry Egan.
After yesterday's apparent PageRank Update, garryegan.com took a bit old PageRank Bitch Slap down to a Goose Egg. I'd imagine my advertisers are going to run for it and that means that once again, I am hosed by my friends at Google Search.
My content's original except for a few blog re-posts by SeoMoz.org. Just a few and yes there are footer links on my home page but geez, PR5 -> PR4 -> PR3 -> PR0.
Really, Google Search? A guy can't make a few bucks from his website without looking like a total scumbag PR ZERO? What a weird and sad dark-side of Google that they couldn't figure out a way, or just let the issue be tolerated, to let site owners monetize their website's Google reputation? "NO MAKING MONEY FROM PAGERANK," said the EvilGoogleBot.
I mean, serious, I make a whopping $70 per month from this website, $15 from AdSense and $55 from 10 links $5.50 each. A guy can't make a few bucks, Google? I'm pushing 1.21 TeraQuads of data every nanosecond. That costs money.
It's easy math to see the percentage revenue earned which each of the 2 mediums...80% Link Sales VS 20% AdSense WTF?
I mean, what the hell?! I'm a PR ZERO, right? It's not like they can punish me any more! I SELL LINKS ON MY SITE! SO WHAT!
Google Search is saying, 'I don't care how good your content is, or how it might benefit the community. You sell links on your site so you have zero importance, reputation, or trust with us.'

I bring visitors to other people's products and services and help them improve their results because THEY ARE MY RECOMMENDATION. I don't see the problem with that?! Google, by giving PageRank, is passing the trust, so to speak. So, based on one critical area, that trust is revoked.
As a systems integrator, here's the problem and I can just see the conversations at Google that made them arrive to this crucial decision.
